Merry Christmas

Oh no Santa ............... I know I have been very bad lately.  Not posting anything new.  I did finally finish the Christmas Santa Book, and taught the class.  Great students.........fun class.  I sure hope they all finished their books.   I really haven't done much since then.  But have been busy with the holidays.
We have a new grand dog......... her name is Lady.  I believe she is coming over tomorrow to celebrate with the family.
I just wanted to wish all my friends and family a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year.
I hope the new year finds you all in good health and with much happiness.
Love

My grandson, Forrest, is going to be a Paleontologist for Halloween.... and Graham is going to be a dinosaur, of course. Forrest also taught me how to make a paper pumpkin the other day. He told me he was very proud of me. I loved it.

Summer Days............

Summer is flying by........ not sure where it has gone. I probably lost track of it because for the most part it has hardly seemed like summer.....but on Sunday it will be back for sure. Which is great because it is Forrest's birthday party at Gigi's and Pa's house for a swim party........woooohoooo!!!!! It will be small but lots of fun. So hard to believe he is 5 today. Yes I have returned from my short trip to Tennessee. We went to attend a 50th anniversary party....... well Neil went and I stayed in the motel sick, sick and sicker. The party was great I understand.....lol. Later Saturday evening I felt fine........like I had not been ill for two days.......very strange. So Sunday we were able to visit with our friends for a bit. We will be returning later in the fall for a couple weeks so at least then we can visit more and golf.
Tomorrow is "The Birthday Book" class....... which of course you could make it any type of book, so if your interested its not to late. Call Paper Tales and sign up.... 586-773-7911.
Have a great summer evening........

Nothing new.........

Boy that's no joke....... I haven't gotten any more books made.....well I have been working on an album that is a gift. But I suppose that doesn't count. I have several ideals running around in my head......just need to get going. I have been working on my basement workshop........ doesn't that sound so impressive? As appose to just the basement......lol. With a lot of help from my friend, Nancy Jo. Thank you, thank you. Not sure how long this is going to take........ seems like forever but will be worth it in the end. RIGHT?
I believe I'm off on a small adventure with Laura tomorrow........ should be fun. I will let you know what happens.
Also the boys might stop by.........they need raspberries. They do eat what they pick and even share once in a while.
Off to watch my favorite tv show....... The Closer.

JULY.............

Well I survived July 1st! I went with my friends to Pat's Village Miniature store in Dearborn, then a great hamburger at Miller's Bar on Michigan Ave. If you have never been there it is a must stop. GREAT hamburgers. We also went to Catching Fireflies, in Berkley, a funky little gift shop. Then to Quiltcrafters quilt shop, also in Berkley on 12 Mile Road. All in all a very fun day with friends.
Came home to finish sorting buttons (when will I learn to keep my mouth shut?). Glad that is done, I am going to pretend there isn't another bag waiting at the store........LOL

Out of my mind.........

Seriously...... is it really May 20th? I thought April whizzed by but this is ridiculous...... I feel like I'm running as fast as I can. Life is passing before my eyes, but for sure it isn't boring. I have been very busy working on new projects for Paper Tales..... just did the Sew book last night and next week is the Tea book. Then the first week in June...... a Mini Graduation folding book. Also a folder.... Junk, with an inside pocket and message type board. Finally I do have pictures to post. I have several new books in the works, well rolling around in my head. Ice Cream, Birthday Book, Train....just to name a few. Don't forget to come into Paper Tail and check out all the classes.
We have also been very busy helping out Kim with the boys. They will be spending the night this weekend........ so lots of fun ahead. Kim & Steve put an offer in on a home but won't know for a bit for sure if they have it...... Its a short sale......so waiting for the bank to okay the sale. Very exciting....even if it is a little bit further away. It's a great location, schools, and the house is in great shape.
Last Friday I went to Memories Manor, St. Clair, MI, for a scrap book weekend. It was FABULOUS!! The Victorian House was wonderful, the food, the setting, the rooms, the service, the food, the beds, the food, oh did I mention the food? I was with a group from Paper Tales.....next years weekend is already in the works. Here is the website..... memoriesManor.com. Check it out!

OH MY GOD! It's the end of April. Where did it go? I have been busy, busy making new books and of course drooling over Laura's books. All ready for my class tomorrow evening, "Because I said so!". Also have finished a great folder, it should be at the store soon. The "Tea" book is 99% finished. It will be at the store by this weekend.
Other projects in the works are a Train book, Birthday book, small Graduation foldout, great for a quick gift when a card just isn't enough.

Also don't forget its National Scrapbook Day this Saturday, May 2nd. An all day scrap at Paper Tales, tons of food and treats and lots of store specials. Don't miss out!

Big babysitting week coming up for us...... three days. Which will include a sleepover, a trip to the donut shop with Pa, playing at the park, walks, so Forrest can push the buttons at the stoplight. Another reason I'm so hard at work this week. LOL

April??????

When did it become April? I must have been unconscious. It has been busy..... just returned from taking my cousin, Kaye, back home. While there we visited a great trim shop.... Trimtex. If you live in the Williamsport, Pa area this is a must stop. If you are interested in any type of ribbon or trim this is the place to go.
We also went to Rochester, NY on Sunday to visit Aiden........lol. Kaye's 4 month old grandson. Oh his moms were there also. That was an interesting trip.
Soooooooo or should I say Sew....... this book is 99% done. It will be at the shop in a few days for all to see. I just need to finished up a few details. It is another large book.... but well worth the time. I will post pictures soon.
Off to plan Easter dinner and play........

Sunday Morning......

WOOHOO!!!!!! The flower garden book class went very well. When I left at 6:45 there were still 5 women busy working on their books......with Cass at the helm. I had to go to dinner with Neil and my cousin. We had a drink with our dinner........ half-way thru my drink I was drunk. I was in shock........ guess I need to drink more (lol) or weaker drinks. Luckily Neil was there to drive us home. All in all it was a great day.
Now back to work on my sewing/quilt book (I think I might have 4 kits spoken for already, lol). But first I have to clean the dinning room for dinner tonight, as I invited the kids over for dinner. It will be worth all the work to see the boys.

I will be leaving on Thursday to take Kaye back home but will return the following Monday. It has been a very busy few weeks.
Wish I was ending with off to play..... instead its off to work!
Have a great day!

Time flies...........

When your having fun! Just wanted to clairify that! LOL I can't believe so much time has passed since my last post. I have been very busy working on new books for classes at Paper Tales. I finally remembered to take some pictures.
I'm off to Penn. tomorrow to visit my cousin and bring her back for a longer visit. Actually I am going to put her to work when she gets back....... don't anyone tell her!
Hopefully my pictures post.........cross your fingers.
DOT COM book........ quick and little for all those passwords and websights. It matches the ADDRESS BOOK.
ADDRESS BOOK, by Laura Vigliarolo...... that is also in April. She used the new Graphics 45 line of paper. A great book for all your important numbers.
BECAUSE..... I said so! All the things your mother said to you........ If I've told you once I've told you a thousand times! A fun quick book...... that is running in April. Call Paper Tales for date and time. 586-773-7911

Try, try again....

Hopefully I will post a few more pictures of the Flower Garden book, which will be on March 28th, a Saturday class, at Paper Tales of course!

I'm so happy........

The Flower Garden book is finished. Woooooohoooooo!!!!! Now onto other projects. Hopefully smaller and not so detailed. There I go dreaming again. I did take a few pictures, wonders never cease. That isn't the garden book......but the Puppet Theater Frame, aka The Poor Mans Digital Frame. That class is on March 12th... I believe. Now I will attempt to add photos of the Garden book. Well that didn't work like I wanted it to..... but I will try again in another post. Off to post more pictures.....I hope.

Time Flies.......

When your having fun. Sooooo true. Okay so that's my excuse. My class when great..... all the students were great....busy......enthused. I couldn't have asked for more. The class was long, did I learn from that, NO! LOL. My next class is a Puppet Theatre Frame, aka - The Poor Mans Digital Frame. A much shorter class. Very easy to do. I hope to have pictures soon to post.
After that comes Flower Garden book. It's almost finished. This is where I didn't learn - there are lots of fun things in the book..... alcohol ink, stickles, lots to do and learn. It will be a long class but I think well worth the work. Again pictures should be coming soon. Hopefully it will be done this week and available at Paper Tales.
The boys are great, I spent Friday morning with them. We had fun playing. Then Saturday I did the 12 hour crop at Paper Tales...... fun fun fun. The food was great as usual. I did get a lot done which makes me very happy. Tuesday brings Laura's class - Paper Doll Book, I'm looking forward to that.
Off to play! Have a great week.

Thursday, February 5, 2009

Busy, busy busy......

The kits are ready...... I'm exhausted. LOL Not from the kits so much as the babysitting. Also chauffeuring Neil around. He is feeling good, recovering nicely from his surgery. Hopefully things will return to normal soon. Now if I could just figure out what normal is! Back to the kits....... I'm so ready, I hope, for my class on Sat. We shall see if I have forgotten anything important. Crossing my fingers and toes.
I still want to change the name of my blog, I just haven't had time to think about it. Soon....... I hope.
I will be doing a few more classes at Paper Tales...... a couple in March, Puppet Theatre Frame and Garden Journal. So I will be busy working on those projects and hopefully future ones also. Come on in to the store and check out all the great classes they offer.
Off to play........

New Name

I feel like I should rename my blog. I want it to reflect more of me besides my very messy side......lol. Any suggestions are welcome....I am leaning towards something with CRAZY in the title. Reflecting my crazy quilting.......not my mental state. I felt I had to add that as to ward off any comments from several people who might just read this blog.
I am hard at work preparing for my class next month. The class, Childhood Memories, is filling up nicely. I'm very exciting to venture back into teaching. Some of you might remember that I did once upon a time teach classes in the world of miniatures. Of course those were more about wood, building and electrical. It is amazing how so many crafts lend themselves to each other. I love being able to apply my knowledge from one to the other.
I'm posting another picture of the book to remind all of you who might be interested.....LOL Don't forget to call the store, Paper Tales, and sign up.
Off to play!
