I ate to much............

Christmas was lovely, the company wonderful....... I ATE TO MUCH FOOD! The food was great..... therefore i ate to much of it. We had a great time with our family and friends. So hard to believe it's pass. We work and plan for so long and its over so quickly.
But on with the crafts...... LOL. New quilts to work on, or at least finish the ones I am currently working on. One crazy quilt, my third, and a yellow and blue one that I started a year ago. All I need to do is put the borders on and have it quilted. The crazy quilt is a long work in progress, but I have done more in the last month than the six months previous. I'm just really getting into this quilt and my friend Iris has just finished hers..... something is wrong with this picture.
I will be posting pictures of my Christmas crazy quilt soon. Then when I get the green and purple one back I will post those also.
Sorry those aren't links to a few of my favorite things.... but they are the web sites. Check them out if your in my area.

Almost here........

Christmas is almost here.... can you hear it? Can you feel it? I love Christmas. I usually love to decorate and do lots and lots of crafty things and bake and wrap presents. But now I look at a lot of that and think its work........to much work. I decorated, about half what I usually so. I haven't send cards out in several years. But of course I love getting cards and notes and pictures. I am ready... presents are wrapped, tree decorated, food bought. Now we will enjoy.
The boys are coming over tomorrow, they have dentist appointments, for lunch and naps. Then on Wednesday they will be here most of the day. We celebrate on Christmas Eve. Having our feast, such as it is and opening presents. It is a gift to watch them.
Pictures from previous years. Not so fancy this year.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!

Christmas pass.........

Matthew with Santa in 1978 and Kim in 1976. The memories this pictures bring back. There is nothing better than watching your children grow and learn.

A few pictures.....

I thought I would add a few pictures. Graham and Forrest helping build the fire and then watching and enjoying the warm fire. I asked Forrest if he had gone to visit Santa yet...... No he replied, so I asked if he was going to go, NO he said. Of course they have gone in pass years so I'm curious as to what will happen this time.

It's almost here..........

So hard to believe Christmas is just around the corner. Almost done shopping, so that's very good, now have to wrap..... and finish that job of decorating. I should have it all done by the 25th! LOL
Went to Paper Tales today and made a great little necklace with Laura...... thanks for all your creative ideas. Also made a notebook with Deb. Such fun projects to pick from. I only have one unfinished kit to do and a few others to finish completely. Have to dig those pictures out.
Well we survived another sleep over with the boys. Such fun as usual. We had pizza for dinner, then had popcorn and watched Nemo. They slept in this morning until 8. When we went to check on them they were talking. So cute. They helped cook breakfast...... pancakes and sausage. We had a lot of playtime before Mom and Dad came to pick them up. Of course I am ready for bed and its only 10:00 p.m. That is very early for me.
I think I should start writing a list of all I have to get done this week. Groceries, presents, wrapping, cooking.
I will think about it in the morning.......

Moaningggggggggg..........

Its snowing..... of all the nerve. What is this? Winter? Well I suppose it could put someone in a holiday mood. Not sure its working for me.
I'm off to get beautiful...... no laughing out there. A hair cut and color, YES I color my hair. If I didn't it would be snow white in front. Not a pleasant sight. Of course with a red dress and bonnet I could pass for Mrs. Claus. Something to think about....NOT.
Finishing up my book from class the other night....... Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. I just love it. I found the actual newspaper article to copy for the book. I added some more stickles so now just need to dig out some photos.
I finally got the tree decorated..........almost. Just a few things left to hang on it......all my hand made paper ornaments given to me over the years from Dan & Sharon. I love them so much, it just wouldn't be the same without them.
The boys, Forrest and Graham, are coming over tomorrow and spending the night. Oh what fun. I think we're going to make cookies, have pizza for dinner, watch a movie and have popcorn.
Have to keep them busy. It will be so much fun, as usual.
Off to get beautiful.......LOL

This is very dangerous........

More pictures. Now that I have figured this out somewhat.........watch out world!
Here are pictures of the book I made for my friend.... NancyJo for her birthday.
Still uploaded them in the wrong order.......I'm not surprised.

Here it is!

My Childhood Memories book.....such fun I had
making this book. These are just a few of the pages.
I hope everyone enjoys it. Also I'm so proud of
myself that I got the pictures uploaded and posted.
Wonders never cease.
ohhh my..... guess I should have uploaded the last one first and the first one last......lol. Someday I will learn.
Enjoy

Baby its COLD!

Now it's really cold out. Sure hope Laura has a full tank of gas so she won't have to venture out to pump gas today. I'm planning to stay in..........but might have to run over to Paper Tales and finally pick up my "Sweet Treats". Also looks like I need to shovel the sidewalks. This is the best reason not to live on a corner. To much sidewalk to maintain. Maybe if I play my cards right..... Matt (aka my son) is stopping over sometime today. Wonder if he will take pity on his dear, OLD mom and clear the walks.
Well I finally started to decorate.......such as it is. I haven't gotten to far but least its a start. Throw up some ribbon and a few shiny things and the dinning room should be done. Then just have the tree to do. LOL Like that doesn't take me a few days to do. Who collected all this stuff anyway. I sure would like to find her and give a lot of it back. Finally I'm beginning to grasp the concept... Less is more.
My little house book, Mayaroad, is 95% finished. I love it. It turned out great. Now seems I will have to protect it. I will try and post pictures if I can only find my cord to the camera...... now where did I put that?

I just love my computer.........

NOT!!! If there was ever something that could drive a person crazy this is it. Not sure what is going on..... doesn't seem to be a virus. I defragged my hard drive. I emptied my cookies. What am I suppose to do? I did download Firefox, which I must say works wonderful as a browser. I also have snow falling on my screen - how cute is that?
Laura thinks its cold now....... just wait. I have my flannel sheets on and my down comforter so I'm ready. Neil is heading north again for black powder season. Hopefully I will get some decorating done..... LOL. That is turning into a real joke. I really could care less. Only doing some for the boys. I guess this is what happens as we grow OLDER.
Well off to work on old projects so I will be ready for next week classes. Oh guess I should decorate too.......

Monday, Monday

Yes I survived the holiday weekend..... first Thanksgiving. We had a very nice dinner and the kids were so funny as usual. Then I did the all day Black Friday crop...... had a ball. Not to sure just how much I got done but it was worth the lack of sleep just to see Laura hobbling around. I do hope shes feeling much better. Really I do.

Saturday the boys came over and spent the night...... we had a good time. After dinner went for a short walk to see our Christmas lights and a few of the neighbors. They loved that. They slept in the next morning......fooled me. I was up at 7 all ready for them. They were happy to see Mom & Dad arrive later in the morning. It is getting much easier as they get older. Thank goodness.

Then I went shopping....... the hard core.....Toys R us. I do believe I am done shopping for the boys...... maybe a few stocking stuffer things. Now just have to do the rest. Also have to start decorating soon or before I know it Christmas will be here.

Off to make turkey soup.

Gobble Gobble Gobble

All the work, all the cooking, all the shopping and now its over and done. Thank goodness. We had a wonderful dinner and tons of left-overs which we split up and sent home with the kids. Glad I don't have to eat turkey for a week or two.
Tomorrow is the crop........ all day and night...... woohooo. I have all my stuff ready, I hope. Not sure what time I will get up and go..... just gonna see how well I sleep. There are a couple specials I'm thinking about....... hmmmmmmmm what to do. I will just sleep on it.
The boys are spending the night on Sat. so Mom & Dad can go shopping and have a break from the fast and furious world of two little boys. We will have fun........ trips to the park and maybe the donut shop. Now I just have to figure out what to cook for dinner. Hot dogs...... PB & J......Mac & cheese....what will they eat.
Off to bed to rest up for the crop........
Happy Thanksgiving

Tuesday Moaning........

A very bad night of sleep or lack there of. Not sure whats going on but sure don't want another night like that. After babysitting today I should be able to sleep tonight. LOL Only watching the boys in the afternoon so it should be a breeze. I always look forward to what they might say or do. Such fun!

I stumbled upon a wonderful blog from a scrapbooker in France. I think it is probably a shop but since I can't read the language its only a guess. Check it out..... http:/.scrapofangel.blogspot.com. She has a style all her own. I found it whimsical. I will be checking it out in the future......now if only I could read French.

I'm looking forward to Friday..... scraping all day and night.......woohoo. I plan on starting and finishing a few projects. I hope, I hope, I hope. But until then its off to clean and cook.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Cookies, cookies and more cookies......

Took the "Cookie Book" class tonight. Loved it........ loved the cookies we got to sample. What a good idea! Now another book to finish........LOL. Just have to finish the covers.
Going to the show tomorrow with the "ladies". Were seeing Twilight, only hope its as good as the book.. I can hardly believe Thanksgiving is almost here. Where does the time go. As Laura reminded me earlier this evening....... I'm OLD. LOL Thats ok....... least I'm still here.

Well (S***) Bummer......

My alone time is ending...... Neil is on his way home from hunting. The snow is chasing him home. But I do have a class tonight! Cookies here I come. I'm even planning on being good....... to a point. Going to eat dinner before I go so I won't be so tempted to eat to many cookiessssssss. I also was going to have all my scrapping stuff cleaned up before he got home..... oh well to late now.

My brusing is better but still there as I was reminded last night. OUCH! This to shall pass.

I babysat yesterday. Sure was nice but very very tiring. I was able to have lunch at the school with Forrest and Graham. It was a party. Lots of fun especially sitting in the small small small chairs. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get up out of it. LOL
Off to class.......

Sunday Morning...

It's SNOWING! Oh well it was inevitable that winter would come and along with it the snow and cold weather. Sigh....... oh the dream of warm sunny beaches.
I'm still working on all my many projects..... LOL. Slowly getting some finished. Of course I have two classes this week.....so more projects to work on. I love it.
The brusing and soreness are begining to fade and I am trying to be very careful and watch where I am walking. NO MORE TRIPS! Unless they involve a plane and warm sunny beaches.
I'm babysitting this week, Wednesday, and look forward to spending the day with the boys. I just love when Forrest thanks me for babysitting him and that its time for me to leave now. Such a hoot.
Off to work on my projects....... woohoo!

Klutzy Wednesday....

Just call me "Grace". I'm sure all the people at Paper Tales will agree as I tripped and fell on my way into the store today. Luckily there were very kind and helpful people about..... the gal who discovered me..... (I wish I knew her name), Cass, Laura and of course my old old friends NancyJo and Mary. Now there is a saying going around PaperTales........ Don't do a Helen!
Thanks everyone for helping me out. I think its going to take a few days before the soreness is gone.... seems to be settling in quite nicely thank you very much. My knee should a rainbow of colors in a few days. Also thanks to JoAnn for the offer of cookies.
I finally finished my Detroit book...... I do love it..... Thanks Laura for being so creative. Now onto a project for my son-in-law. Then next week I'm doing the Christmas book and Cookie book...... a fun week ahead.
I babysit Forrest and Graham all day tomorrow so that combined with the fall should put me in sorry shape by tomorrow evening........so unless you have a Cosmo in hand.......don't call me...I will call you.

Sunday Afternoon

Home a day early... the generator broke and Neil wanted to get it fixed to go back up later this week. So no showers....... no hair dryer..... yikes. Even through it is a little rustic I do like my hair dryer. So we packed up this morning and left just before dawn in the snow.......which was breathtaking. It clung to every branch on every tree and shrub. To bad my camera was packed away. Much as I love going up there not real crazy about going to the outhouse in the rain or snow. And its always such a pleasent surprise to get up in the middle of the night and go out to find snow on the ground..... hopefully not on the seat! So by the end of the week I will be a hunting widow...... it happens annually around here. So I'm making plans....... woohoooo!
Off to nap........
later........

This just might be a lot of fun......

OK slowly I think I might be getting the hang of this. But that will have to wait until next week due to the fact were going to "Neil's World" tomorrow. Also known as "the cabin in the woods". Where I will read and work on scrapbook stuff while Neil hunts. The nights are long and dark but on a clear night the stars seem so close you could reach out and touch them. This is my annual trip......seems this is when I'm allowed to go...ha ha ha.
I will return soon and become a hunting widow........ oh gosh darn. Oh the classes I will take, the restaurants I will visit, fun will be had.
Oh this is going to be fun..... it only took me 25 minutes to figure out how to post on my own blog. Heaven only knows what will show up here and when. LOL
I finished a scrapbook for my g/f for her birthday..... it turned out great. Now I'm going to start working on a few new projects that I have been thinking about along with the classes I have signed up for at PaperTails. Also finishing the kits I have from classes I was unable to attend.
Are you begining to see why I have no time for housework? Then I have quilts to work on..... miniatures to work on. Valances and pillows to make for my home. Dinner to cook, clothes to iron, etc, etc.
